100 CSP’s available for placement in 2019

The Department of Health (DoH) has requested a list of independent community pharmacies that would like to employ a Community Service Pharmacist (CSP) in 2019. The scope of practice of the CSP while working in an assigned community pharmacy will be that of a “qualified” pharmacist. They may not practice as a pharmacist outside of the designated pharmacy.

Priority will be given to rural and previously under-serviced communities and where Centralised Chronic Medicine Dispensing and Distribution (CCMDD) Pick up Points (PuPs) are located.

To participate in this initiative, please forward your details to denise@icpa.co.za CSPs that have successfully been seconded to a community pharmacy will receive a letter from the NDoH informing the CSP of the name of the pharmacy and a brief overview of the terms of the secondment, a few key conditions are listed for your information. The CSP will enter into a contract with the relevant pharmacy but the conditions of service will be similar to that of the Public Service. The CSPs remuneration will be on a cost to employer bases (all-inclusive salary package) of R407 811 per annum. The CSP may provide for his/her own contributions to a medical aid and pension as this will not be deducted automatically from your monthly salary.
